TigerTurf synthetic grass pitch at Whittlesea officially open

Despite the chilly Melbourne winter weather the official opening of the state of the art 'Soccer Real' football pitch at Harvest Home Farm, Whittlesea was a great success.

Elizabeth Nealy, the Mayor of the City of Whittlesea, along with Michael Kelliher from TigerTurf unveiled the plaque in front of local councillors, representatives from Football Federation Victoria (FFV) and members of the local community.

Earlier in the day the Smart Connection Company hosted a synthetic turf workshop attended by local governments to learn about the benefits of synthetic turf.

During the evening, community coaches from FFV ran clinics for the local children so they could experience playing on the surface and improve their skills. The evening was topped off with a sausage sizzle.

The football pitch will be shared by all local clubs on a rotation basis and will be a great asset to the community. TigerTurf have commenced work on their next major football project at Mill Park Secondary College.
