Insulation solutions by Insulflex Insulation

Insuflex reflective insulation is the latest technology being used in building systems all over the world. Apart from the outstanding thermal performance ratings, this technology offers enormous advantages for Architects, Builders, Contractors and the Environment.

Reflective insulation is a slim line multi layered thermal blanket, available from Insulflex Insulation in thicknesses of 4.5mm and 16mm. The insulation is manufactured in continuous roll form and created by bonding 1X, 2X or 3X layers of 99+% pure aluminium foils to an inner core of fire retardant polyethylene bubble cells.

The slim line feature of this reflective insulation allows designers to achieve impressive R value results in cavities as little as 20mm. With new thermal requirements set out in Section J of the BCA and other energy assessment tools such as BASIX, cavity space in roofs, ceilings, walls and floors become a crucial factor in achieving high thermal performance.

The R values achieved with reflective insulation takes into consideration the building elements and air cavities which surround the product. These are calculated to a Total R Value System and illustrated in a thermal calculation. The R value of a system can be enhanced by simply increasing the size of the air cavity. A single reflective insulation product can achieve numerous R values depending on the cavity design and products used within a building system.
