Ukko Tubs the new division of Ukko Saunas have just installed a traditional Western Red Cedar Hot Tub in an award winning home in the Sydney suburb of Manly. The tub was commissioned by the owner to replace an existing tub that had failed due to poor design and lack of maintenance. This was possible due to Ukko Tubs huge range of 20 different sizes.

Environmentally Friendly
Two steps were taken to make this tub as environmentally friendly as possible. Firstly the heating is done with Natural Gas saving the owner in running costs as well as reducing carbon emissions that are associated with electricity production. The second measure is the way in which the water is sanitized. Not only does the tub use Hydrogen Peroxide which is an odour free, allergy free and environmentally neutral alternative to Chlorine or Bromine but it also has fitted a corona discharge ozonator and a copper, silver and zinc ionizer which reduces the chemical usage by over 80 percent.

Quality Materials
Ukko Tubs does not cut corners when it comes to quality. They use only genuine Grade "A" Clear Western Red Cedar from Canada (the home of Western Red Cedar). The tub walls are 38mm thick giving maximum insulation benefit (once again cutting down the running costs) and the benches are full benches rather than slats, which are a full 30mm thick. All the equipment and plumbing has been carefully selected to provide the best configuration for performance and durability.

Made for Life
The seal in Ukko Tubs is achieved using the natural expansion of the timber rather than silicon which has a life of only about 15 years. Therefore with proper maintenance the tub should last a lifetime unlike its predecessor.
