One Stop Surface Safety Solutions Feature at Swim School

This Sydney northern beaches based swim school has undergone a major refurbishment project.

Part of the project was their flooring and associated disability access requirements. They contacted Global Safe Technologies to visit and assess the situation and to provide solutions, which were relevant standards compliant, sustainable, environmentally friendly, aesthetically appealing and easy to clean.

The Global Safe's floor safety consultant had attended the site and after consultation with the owner, it was decided for their flooring to apply the Supa Safe, HB 197:1999 handbook recommended value compliant, environmentally friendly Anti-Slip coating system with speckle coating onto the pool surrounds and stairs. For the stairs, the Global Safe consultant advised to use AS 1428.4 compliant Safe Grip Non Slip stair nosing and the glued down warning tactile ground surface indicator tiles at the top and the bottom of the stairs.

The floor and other surface safety work were scheduled towards the back end of the entire refurbishment. Due to unforeseen problems, a delay occurred which resulted in a delay of the proposed solutions implementation to the last minute. The Global Safe team included one principal of Global Safe Technologies and one of its authorised floor safety specialists, from Global Safe NSW. The team worked tirelessly and overcame several obstacles to ensure that the opening of the school would never be in question.
