Funding flows for conservation at Davey

In 2005 Davey applied for a Community Water Grant (CWG) from the Federal Government for the installation of a rainwater harvesting system to provide alternative water source to the Scoresby factory paint line and toilets. The Community Water Grants projects funding announcements were made in celebration of World Water Day and will enable local projects to ensure a sustainable and water-wise future.

Thanks to the support of our suppliers, members of Government, and members of the Davey team, Davey's application for $50,000 was successful. The project will save an estimated 3 million litres of water a year and will also showcase rainwater harvesting, using RainBank® in an industrial setting. Water run-off from large factory roofs provides an excellent alternative water source which can be substituted for potable water in factory processes and human services.

The success of the application reflects the quality of the submission, and Davey would like to thank those who supported our grant application: Chris Pearce, the Federal Member for Aston; Sam Sampanthar and Trish Winterling, Knox City Council; Robert Styles, the General Manager of Tankworld and Kim Wells, the State Member for Scoresby.
