Toby is a specialist timber floor coating brand with more than 25 years experience in the Australian market. Toby is the most recognised specialist brand in the timber floor coating trade and can be easily identified by its packaging, "the red can".

History

The timber floor coatings technology originated more than 25 years ago with an Australian company, Huntley, who later became known as Metchem. The products were sold under the Tarzan brand until the sale of the timber floor coatings technology to Toby Construction Chemicals in 1991. From this time the brand was known as Toby.

Later, Toby Construction Chemicals merged with Emery Coatings, to form Toby-Emery Coatings.

Product Range

The Toby range includes:

• Traditional coatings that have been established for many years, including Lustapol and Unithane.
• The latest water based technology, known as Aquamax.
• Products designed to maintain the timber floor finishes.
• Products to assist the floor coating professional in the application of floor finishes.

Research, Development and Testing

Toby timber floor coatings have been developed and tested for the Australian environment and common Australian timber species. The Australian testing laboratories and technical personnel are focused on assuring that the complete Toby range of products are world class technology that is suited to the local market.

Distribution

The Toby product range is manufactured in Australian and distributed nationally through an authorised network of Toby Distributors. A Toby Distributor is a specialist in the supply of timber floor finishing products who are able to offer advice and service.
