NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESGlass splashbacks by ASG Splashbacks for contemporary kitchensASG Splashbacks general manager Adam Budai says a glass splashback is a great investment for the home as it creates a contemporary look and is easy to maintain. "It safe, it looks beautiful and extremely modern and it's the easiest product to clean because there's no grout no mould can breed," Adam says. "The product is now used as feature walls of interiors such as foyers and feature wall trims, splashbacks in kitchens and bathrooms and as a substitute for tiles in wet areas." The company has released a new product onto the market, which is a world-first, and is patented coloured textured finishes on toughened safety glass, giving a 'stone' look to the splashback. And don't forget their glow-in-the-dark splashbacks - perfect for romance - or sleepy mums and dads who have to get up during the night. There are two different types of glass used for splashbacks, and Adam stresses it is vital to use toughened glass for the entire splashback to prevent breakage. From measuring to the fit-out, installation takes about eight days. The glass is fixed to the wall with non-acidic silicone and double-sided tape (made to take the weight) and after it's been fixed to the wall, the glass is sealed around the edge using silicone. ASG Splashbacks have provided the following descriptions and prices that were correct at the time of publication and the average area covered is 2.5m: Clear float toughened painted splashback glass is the base model starting at $385/sq m, which can have a green tint; |
