Australasian Institute of Surface Finishing Conference

The AISF conference held on the Gold Coast in late July was a tremendous success. We had over 90 delegates in attendance, who were able to listen to a wide variety of papers, covering business topics, environmental issues, as well as information on advances in process and new equipment.

For the first time ever at an AISF conference, there were more powder coaters than electroplaters in attendance - this is probably a reflection of the trend in the industry.

Over 100 people attended the conference dinner, which was hosted by the team from "Faulty Towers," with Basil, Sybil and Manuel keeping us all entertained through out the evening. Some of the photos are being withheld to protect the innocent!

There was also a more formal part to the evening, with Honorary Membership of the AISF being presented to three worthy recipients - Keith Mallitt, Chris Burgess and Tim Elley. Congratulations to all of you.
