NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESSolar modules for Kogarah Council from Australia Wide Solar![]() Kogarah Council officially launched their new solar system at the council depot in Planthurst Street, Carlton NSW in September. 216 solar modules were installed by local company, Australia Wide Solar and switched on by the Mayor Nick Katris. This is now the biggest photovoltaic solar system installed by any council onto their own buildings. The array is 37.8 kWatt and will generate on average 150kWatt hours per day. This electricity generated by the solar panels will run the needs of the works depot and the excess will be fed back to the grid supply. This means that the council depot is running on it's own clean, green renewable energy. Kogarah Council has to be congratulated on this initiative and for setting an excellent example to residents, businesses and other councils on what can be done locally to fight climate change. Australia Wide Solar has the experience to design and install solar power systems on a very large scale. |
