Sustainable Healthcare Flooring from Polyflor

Healthcare Project - Royal North Shore Hospital

A major technical factor for this hospital was the flooring - the need for a sustainable slip resistant, low VOC, static dissipation properties, GreenTag™ LCA certification and extremely level floors was imperative to this project. The need for extremely level floors was essential in OR's and equipment rooms, in particular cardiac catheter labs and MRI's, in addition to the challenge of the hospitals AGV's (Automated Guidance Vehicles).

Polyflor Australia's flooring products met the stringent and technical requirements of this project and could also offer a product that wears well and can be easily maintained to a high standard. Combined with its great lifecycle, the decision to use vinyl flooring over other alternatives was based on the history of that product in the Australian healthcare market and comparative studies of other healthcare floorings.
