NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESDallo Romano, Ashlar Pattern, in weathered burgundy limestone - custom-made fireplaces from The Good House
The Good House regularly imports stone works from France in the form of stone fireplaces and mantelpieces, custom made out of French limestone, both hard and medium hard Burgundy limestone, or softer feature stone from the South of France. But did you know that we also import pavers, tiles and slabs in finishes that will look fabulous not only in French provincial or Mediterranean, Tuscan designs, but also contemporary and modern Australian designs? Found throughout South European countries bordering the Mediterranean sea, and known as Dallo Romano or Ashlar pattern, the most specific and traditional design pictured here is perfect for outdoor areas such as pool surrounds, verandas and pergolas, garden walkways, and driveways. The standard size is based on 200mm and multiples modules, and the larger pattern is based on 300mm modules. Another way to achieve a similar countryside look is to use random width strips in 300, 400, and 500mm widths. Length would be random as well. But what really gives the old world touch is the weathered finish, with broken or rounded edges. To the best of our knowledge, The Good House is the only company able to provide such realistic finishes, through close collaboration with a couple of exclusive suppliers from Burgundy, the region where the most beautiful limestone flagstones, fireplaces and stone stairs unarguably come from. Please Note: At The Good House, we look forward to sharing your vision. |
