CCTV Security Surveillance from Technologix

Why is CCTV used and how can it help?

Closed circuit television (CCTV) is used in any application that requires monitoring and or recording of an area. CCTV is being used in many ways such as certain public areas to protect you and your community, including town centres, shops, banks, casinos, roads, airports, and on some forms of public transport. Nowadays CCTV is becoming part of residential buildings as it offers to keep an eye when everyone is away, at work, at school, and on holidays. The advantage of having a CCTV in place is that images can be used as evidence in court to prove someone was in a certain place or that they committed an offence. CCTV can also be seen as a deterrent and thus help to improve community safety and prevent crime, by putting someone off committing a crime like robbery if they know their actions are being recorded.

What are some good general features to look for in a CCTV system ?

CCTV is a visual means of security surveillance with the capability to monitor, and record different environments and activities. A communication link between the CCTV security camera and DVR (Digital Video Recorder) can include full pan, tilt and zoom functionality of the camera. Many systems nowadays include audio functionality enabling user to monitor sounds just like images. Security cameras can help to identify false alarms by allowing users to view the area where the alarm took place and check if an alarm signal is an actual treat or not. By having a CCTV security system in place it gives the user the option to view that location from virtually anywhere in the world.
