The recently completed the design and documentation of the new Learning Centre facility for Ausgrid (formerly Energy Australia), provides a high quality and efficient educational environment for apprentices and staff. The Centre caters for a variety of training, administration and corporate activities and has been designed to reflect the aspirations of Ausgrid to create a landmark, environmentally sustainable facility.

The overall built form consists of four interconnected pavilion style buildings arranged to create a series of significant internal and external courtyard spaces for both training and recreational uses.

Integral to the design is the use of DecorLux feature ceiling panels which satisfied the requirements required for:

• Acoustic control
• Environmental Green Star ratings
• Aesthetic appeal
• Budget

The DecorLux panels were pre-finished in a low VOC clear finish enhancing the raw uncluttered appearance of the interiors.

The project has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star - Education Design v1 Certified Rating from the Green Building Council of Australia which represents "World Leadership" in environmentally sustainable design. It is currently registered for a Green Star Education As Built v1 rating and targeting a 6 Star as-built rating.
