Air Infiltration and Natural Ventilation Benefits from Breezway

Modelling Confirms Breezway® Louvres a Natural Winner
As electricity prices continue to rise, mixed-mode cooling systems that turn air conditioning systems off and use natural ventilation when appropriate are gaining popularity.
In response to concerns from HVAC (heating, ventilation & air conditioning) engineers, Breezway commissioned an independent study to assess the impact of the air infiltration of Altair Louvre Windows on the total annual air conditioning load of a building.
The results showed that turning the air conditioning off and using natural ventilation when appropriate far outweighs the benefits of sealing a building up tightly in an attempt to improve the efficiency of air conditioning systems.
The study showed an annual air conditioning load decrease of 23% when Altair Louvre Windows were used to allow cooling natural ventilation.
