UK Company Peter Brotherhood Ltd is on track to be part of one of Australia's biggest environmentally sound projects, Ergon Energy's green power plant at The Isis Central Sugar Mill.

Peter Brotherhood, through Ergon Energy, has just delivered a $5 million turbine which will see the waste materials of Australian sugar cane turned into a readily available source of energy. The arrival of the turbine saw the region's largest crane lift the travelled equipment - which had been sent from Peter Brotherhood's UK production plant - into place in its new Queensland home. This latest development in the plant's construction sees the operations on track to start processing in time for the 2006 crushing season.

The 39-tonne turbine, which is one of Peter Brotherhood's more than 500 steam turbines used in sugar mills throughout the world, is expected to produce around 65, 000 megawatt hours of power annually to Queensland homes.

Peter Brotherhood Steam Turbines have been represented in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea since the early part of last century. Senior Thermal Engineering Australia has represented Peter Brotherhood exclusively in this region since June 2000.
