Lend Lease chooses BT Bamboo Eco Flooring for new environmentally friendly HQ

Lend Lease was committedto incorporatingenvironmentally sustainabledevelopment (ESD) initiativesinto the project brief.

An Australian ownedcompany operating since1996, Eco Flooring Systemsalready has a proven trackrecord in supplying high qualityBT Bamboo flooring, includinginstallations at David Jonesand the Chinese Consulate.

In selecting BT Bamboo,Lend Lease looked at a rangeof factors including themanufacturing process,coatings and the glues used.

They also looked atpracticalities such as thehardness and durability. BTBamboo is equal in hardnessto jarrah and tallowwood andis quality assured (ISO 9002).

The zero emission waterbased coatings, non toxicglues and environmentallyresponsible manufacturingprocesses used to produce BTBamboo satisfied the strictcriteria placed on materialschosen for the development.

The clarity of the flooring,and the fact that it is one ofthe few, pale yellow, solid hardwood timbers available thatare suitable for this purposemade it a natural choice.

BT Bamboo flooring,whilst complying with thearchitect's requirements alsocomplemented and enhancedthe mood of the building,helping to create a light, openenvironment of quality inwhich to work.

Lend Lease chose lightsand vertical wide boards witha satin finish and, as a featurefor the new level 9 boardroom,darker, coffee coloured BTBamboo carbonated ambervertical wide board wasselected.
