At a time when many in the business community are experiencing the impacts of diminished consumer confidence and a slowing economy, we believe we have some very positive news to share with our customers.

Designed Blinds Australia Pty Ltd has become the newest member of the Hunter Douglas group of companies.

Designed Blinds Australia (DBA) is highly regarded in the industry for its rich history of creativity and design. By combining these attributes with the market presence and critical mass of Hunter Douglas (HDA), we believe we have created a powerful coalition of innovation and marketing resources which will deliver strong brands and profitable sales growth to our customers.

By achieving a continuous flow of product development and retail concepts the group will provide consumers with more choice and a shopping experience second to none.

We thought it was important to communicate the great news to you today but we are also mindful of our customers' views and will once again adopt a consultative approach as we formulate our strategies for the LUXAFLEX and DBA brands and their distribution. You will be invited to functions early in the New Year where we will explain our thinking in more detail. We will then follow up with more personalised appointments in which we will have the opportunity to listen to your input before finalising our strategic plans.

As we were going through the process of reaching agreement it had been difficult to contain our excitement about the potential of this combined force in the Australian market, but now we are ready to drive the development, production and marketing of window coverings in Australia to a whole new level for our customers.
