Grip Guard Non-Slip Floor Treatment, Wet Floor Slip Resistance

Most floors are relatively safe when dry. Add water or other liquids into the equation and floor can become a serious safety hazard.

Many floor tiles become slippery when wet. There are three basic types of non-slip floor applications available in the market today - non-slip floor coatings, non-slip floor etches, and non-slip floor treatments.

Non-slip floor coatings are a short-term solution. Floor coatings are made up of a carrier substance (often a paint or sealer) into which a gritty material is broadcast or mixed to increase slip resistance. Unfortunately, the carrier generally has no inherent non-slip properties. Once pedestrians wear the gritty material away, the floor surface is usually more slippery than it was prior to treatment as the natural pores of the floor have been blocked.

Non-slip etches are another form of floor safety treatment. This type of treatment chemically abrades surface of the floors to roughen the texture and increase slip resistance. Unfortunately, floor etches often damage floors, change their colour and reduce shine.

Pedestrians aquaplaning across wet floors cause most slip and fall accidents. If pedestrians step onto a wet floor and the floor lacks adequate porosity to displace the water under the pressure of a pedestrians foot, there is a high risk of a slip and fall accident.

Grip Guard nonslip floor treatment provides a unique nonslip solution that dramatically increases slip resistance without changing the appearance of the floor. The non-slip treatment works its way into tile, stone or concrete to microscopically alter the internal pore structure of the floor, increasing slip resistance.

Grip Guard non slip floor treatment is available for installation by fully trained representatives throughout Australia including Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Darwin as well as selected regional areas and New Zealand.
