When the owners of this kitchen decided to renovate, they asked Fred Tabet of Wonderful Kitchens to design a large, open space with clean lines, plenty of storage, and an emphasis on drawers rather than cupboards. Everything that could be was to be built in, so Tabet integrated most appliances, and included a large pantry. By avoiding overhead cabinetry, the kitchen has a spacious, open appearance, and the Miele canopy hood on the side wall becomes a feature. Aluminium rail finger pulls on doors and drawers enhance the clean, straightlinedlook, and contrasting QuantumQuartz engineered stone benchtops -Metallic Black on the island and LunaWhite on the workbench - add a sharp, contemporary edge. A tiled border helps to visually separatethe kitchen and adjoining living area. For information, contact WonderfulKitchens or visit a showroom; Padstow:127 Fairford Rd, NSW 2211, phone (02)9772 2988; Willoughby: 1/100 PenshurstSt, NSW 2068, phone (02) 9958 6632.
