NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESManta Mesh Decks & Pallet Racking for Odd Size Pallets by SpeedRack![]() The National Library of Australia needed a solution for their warehouse where office members were able to visit the Library's warehouse, and safely and easily pick items from goods stored on Pallets. However because of the large volume of materials and the space they used, the pallets had to be stored on 6m tall Pallet Racking. The Libraries staff were not seasoned warehouse or forklift operators, and safety and ease of access being of fundamental importance needed to find a way for their personnel to retrieve the pallets from the racks, and then return them to their position. To add to this problem, the pallets were not of a standard size, and were all of different shapes. This meant that the pallets would not sit securely on conventional Racking, and would make the retrieval and replacement of the pallets difficult, and increase the risk of the pallets falling. SpeedRack suggested the use of a deeper than standard Pallet Rack, fitted with a Mesh Deck which would allow any shaped pallet to be stored in any position. Rather than having to sit accurately on two Pallet racking Rails, the Pallets were able to be placed on a flat deck, greatly reducing the chance of Pallets being dislodged. SpeedRack made the Pallet Racking 1200mm deep, and this also aided the office staff by increasing the depth (from a standard 838mm deep) which also helped in the placement of the pallets at height. The Racking, combined with a Crown Forklift Stacker provided a safe and friendly storage area. Contact SpeedRack for more information on how we can find a Solution to your storage needs.
