SILENTSTEP Acoustic Underlay - Adding a new dimension to the flooring industry.
The new and improved SILENTSTEP has been developed by Pyrotek and Bridgestone to reduce noise transfer in both single and multi-store buildings. SILENTSTEP reduces noise in both directions, i.e. noise traveling down through floor and up through the ceiling. (Where underlay is laid). High quality Airstep rubber underlay combined with a highly flexible loaded vinyl is the most economical and versatile sound proofing material available for the flooring industry. Effective for airborne and impact noise.
SILENTSTEP Installation Procedures
SILENTSTEP is an inexpensive form of carpet underlay which not only offers an excellent support to all types of carpet but also can reduce sound transfer when laid over a timber floor. SILENTSTEP will take a little extra time to install, however, the benefits experienced by your customer will far exceed the additional effort.
1. Use standard Domestic Carpet Gripper unless otherwise directed. 2. Lay waffle side of underlay on to the floor surface. 3. Butt edges of SILENTSTEP firmly together - underlay tape is necessary. 4. SILENTSTEP should not be stapled to timber floors or attached by adhesive to concrete floors. By doing so, the acoustic properties will be reduced. The products has sufficient weight to remain in a form position during the fitting of the carpet. 5. Cut in as per normal rubber underlay installation. 6. Make certain carpet is firmly attached to leading gripper pins. 7. Bolster carpet between far side gripper edge and skirting boards. Once again, check that the carpet is firmly attached to the gripper.

SOUNDBARRIER UNDERLAY is a composite of flexible Sound Baffle with a 4mm polyethylene impact layer of closed cell foam, (perfect for wet areas) designed to be placed under tiles or carpets to reduce impact and airborne noise transfer to rooms below. Available in 4kg or 8kg/m2 depending on the noise volume of the area, SOUNDBARRIER UNDERLAY comes in wider roll widths of 1.35m with the 8kg in 5m lengths and the 4kg in 10m lengths.
