..Early Fire Hazard Rating

When tested in accordance with AS1530 Part 3-1989 "Early Fire Hazard Properties of Materials", Plain AcoustiSorb 3 plain and faced meets the AS1668 requirements of spread of flame 0, and smoke developed no greater than 3 for the internal lining of ductwork.

..Thermal Conductivity

The thermal conductivity of AcoustiSorb 3 at a mean* temperature of 20oC is 0.0335 W/mK when tested in accordance with ASTM C518. Values of thermal conductivity may be obtained from the following graph.


*Mean Temperature = T1 +T2 divided by 2, where:

1 = temperature of the hot side of insulation (oC)

2 = temperature of the cool side of insulation (oC)

..Moisture Absorption

When tested in an atmosphere of 65% relative humidity at 20oC in accordance with British Standard 2972-1975, the moisture content of Tontine products are less than 0.1% by volume.
