ILLBRUCK JOINT SEALING PRODUCTS -
the operating principle

o
illbruck's range of joint sealing products operates in a way which eliminates many of the failure modes of more widely recognised but temperamental sealing compounds. These failure modes are avoided by the adoption of an innovative range of pre compressed, impregnated gasket tapes.

Installed into the joint directly from the roll, the pre compressed tapes slowly expand to fill the joint and achieve the desired performance.

Being retained under compression the tapes react responsively to any subsequent movement, which eliminates the problem of sealant debonding.

All illbruck products are inherently breathable whether providing fire resistance or weatherproof performance.

This breathable performance ensures the tapes function sympathetically with the other elements in the structure and is explained in greater detail, along with all other aspects of joint sealing, in the construction related physics document published by illbruck.

SEAL BREATHABILITY

It is well known that brickwork absorbs rainwater which it releases when conditions permit. The vapour resistivity of willseal 600 is of a magnitude that ensures the tape is closed enough to seal against wind driven rain, yet open enough to allow entrapped moisture to diffuse to the outside thereby benifiting the structure as a whole.
