Preston Superdeck™ retractable construction platform
The Superdeck™ system was designed to minimise any hindrance to crane ropes
and loads, significantly increasing safety, and by vertically stacking the units this further
increases the efficiency of materials handling and crane productivity.
Founded in 1969 the Preston Group of companies hired large mobile cranes and scaffolding to the
construction industry. Since then the company has evolved by continuously innovating to provide
new materials handling solutions for construction sites. The objectives of Preston's research
and development efforts are to provide solutions that deliver safety, reliability and efficiency
for materials handling in multi-storey building environments.
In 1985 Preston developed the innovative Preston Folding Scaffold which won the BHP steel award
in 1987 and the iBM innovator of the year award in 1988.
Preston then went on to develop the 'Standard' platform that cantilivered from the sides of buildings
and allowed cranes to deliver all materials safely & efficiently. The non-retractable Standard platform
was patented by Preston and achieved worldwide recognition.
In 1997 Preston then developed the Superdeck™ retractable loading platform designed to improve
materials handling efficiency and safety for the multi-storey and high rise construction sectors,
further simplifying materials handling and again increasing safety by allowing the cranes, uninhibited
access to the platforms from above.
The Preston Superdeck™ is a retractable loading platform system positioned vertically one above the other
for efficient & safe delivery of all building materials, directly to the designated floor of a multi-storey
building by crane. Over the past four decades, Preston has built an enviable reputation in the Australian
building construction hire industry for its innovative, high-quality products and excellent service.
The vast experience and knowledge gained by Preston is continually being put to use by our experienced staff

The 'G' stands for 'global', reflecting a design modification that allows for more efficient packing into
shipping containers, superior safety, easier & simpler to use resulting in substantial cost savings to the builder.
