Foamular Metric XPS insulation for roofing and waterproofing
The material also has high compressive strength suitable for use under walking or vehicular traffic surfaces. Foamular Metric XPS has high compressive strength, density and thermal resistance (comp strength 250kpa minimum, density 35kg/m³ avg, thermal resistance, 50mm = R 1.78). Most common applications will have the Foamular Metric placed directly over the applied membrane. The insulation is then covered by an appropriate filter fabric. It is essential that all insulation is covered by the protective filter fabric as it is laid. To keep the system in place use a specified ballast of river stones or concrete paving over the insulated area. Prior to laying the insulation, applicator must ensure compatibility of insulation and membrane. The site must be free of any products that can damage the insulation such as petroleum, solvents, adhesives or other such materials. Foamular Metric XPS is not recommended for applications where sustained temperatures exceed 75°C.
