Axolotl reinvents itself

Axolotl has been updating its image over the last couple of months as it changes to its new name of Axolotl Metal, which it says is to reflect its move beyond 'metal surfaces' business into 'metal concepts'.

The company has announced this in conjunction with an announcement that it has opened a London office, appropriately named Axolotl London. This comes on the back of an aggressive expansion into various regions of Asia.

One area of Asia the company recently made headway is in Malaysia where the company took top honours at Malbex, the pre-eminent local trade show.

The company also says in its quarterly newsletter that it has demonstrated how its metal work can be adapted to the fine detail of hand carved surfaces. Axolotl artisans were given the task of coating two hand carved doors in an Axolotl antique bronze. Axolotl says any pattern can be made for any application, with a choice from more than 200 different metals and effects.
