Neoferma Australia signs joint venture agreement set to revolutionise waterproofing within the construction industry in the Middle East.

David Heffernan (Septech Emirates) & Paul Lyden (Neoferma Australia) form joint venture in U.A.E.
Innovative waterproofing system, ideally suited to Middle East conditions, available for the first time in the region
Challenges associated with building in the Middle East where construction often takes place below the water table can be overcome, thanks
to a waterproofing system to be manufactured and distributed for the first time in the Middle East by Septech Emirates.
Neoferma Australia Pty Ltd has developed the patented system - NeoPanel, and Dubai-based, Septech Emirates has signed a joint venture
enabling it to manufacture and distribute the product in this region. Septech Emirates is a specialised process engineering company with
10 years regional construction experience.
"Our core business in pre-cast concrete products meant it made sense to get on board with Neoferma and incorporate their pre-cast concrete
basement waterproofing system, NeoPanel into our product offering in the region," said David Heffernan, managing director, Septech Emirates.
"By utilising standard pre-cast panels with minor design modifications, we're able to provide a fully waterproofed, self sealing structure
to construction industry clients," Heffernan said. "In a region where a shortage of water suitable for drinking and general use is a
constant concern, ironically the water table, with its high salt content and close proximity to the surface, presents a huge problem both
during and after the construction stage," Heffernan said. "The availability of NeoPanel will eliminate that problem."
The NeoPanel system incorporates Sodium Bentonite on the surface structure as well as underneath the main slab and horizontal and vertical
joints together with Neoferma Gaskets.
Heffernan explained the advantages of the NeoPanel system. "Cost savings and a substantial reduction of construction hours are experienced
because form workers, steel fixers, concreters and waterproofers are either not required on site or the need for these trades is significantly
reduced," Heffernan said.
"Panels are waterproofed off site eliminating the need for unnecessary excavation as access to the outside wall isn't required. The
NeoPanel system also offers increased protection against below ground contaminants which increases panel life," Heffernan added.
NeoPanel is a proven product carrying a 15-year warranty and Septech Emirates offers technical on site support for clients throughout
the Middle East.
