Wind Rated Commercial Umbrellas from Instant Shade Umbrellas

The Mount Martha Golf Course on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria recently engaged Instant Shade Umbrellas to provide shade and shelter over a large decking area near the club house. The two distinct decking areas required different shade solutions:

The larger more exposed decking area required Skyspan structural umbrellas. These PVC tension membrane fabric structures are wind rated to 120km/h and provide an almost permanent shade solution to what is a very windy and exposed side of the deck.

The smaller decking area required smaller umbrellas but ones still able to withstand significant winds. For this area we installed Nova HD heavy duty umbrellas which are available in a compact 3m Square size. The two umbrellas were installed side by side and joined together with an easily attached Velcro gutter system.

All umbrellas were secured to the deck using custom designed bracing plates fixed to the underside of the decking structure.
