Train Bathrooms Get The EJ Treatment

Building train "bathrooms" is not as simple as it may seem to be. It takes significant design and construction specialists to engineer the efficient delivery of water and electricity.

One of the big problems is dispensing with the "bath water". To achieve efficient drainage, EJ supplied 100 metres of Cast Ductile Iron Trench Grate for installation at the new Wulkuraka Queensland Rail Train Maintenance Depot. The drainage system was installed in the actual Train Wash down bay.

But handling water issues isn't the only problem to be overcome in such a facility. Electricity reticulation is another major consideration. So EJ has measured up 21 solid top trench runs for the electrical cable trenches. These range in lengths from 4 metres to 6 metres, incorporating 90 degree angles.

Keeping water and electricity separated is one of the challenges that exists in this type of construction and the team at EJ is more than experienced and equipped to provide the most efficient and most economical solutions.
