Protective Stainless Steel Band from Bellis Australia

As a recognised leader in the insulation sector, Bellis Australia equips their comprehensive catalogue with high performance insulation accessories, such as complete heat tracing systems, protective stainless steel band products, and compression and expansion springs. The Queensland-based company has been in the business for nearly four decades. With a strong dedication to world-class quality, Bellis Australia continues to be of profound service to various industries, including petroleum, petrochemical, oil, gas, LNG (liquefied natural gas), power station mining, resource processing, smelting and refining.
Protective Stainless Steel Band
Bellis can provide high grade stainless steel banding for fixing insulation and cladding products in place. Cladding assemblies are designed to protect insulation, vapour barriers and pipework from moisture and other external elements. With stainless steel banding, industrial workers can guarantee the longevity and performance of insulation systems.
Stainless steel has been widely used for different applications across the globe. The industry standard metal is known for its excellent structural strength and dimensional stability. Stainless steel provides excellent resistance to premature deterioration and hard, long-term wear. In addition, stainless steel combats the harsh effects of moisture, saline solvents, and other agents of corrosion. Stainless steel banding will deliver outstanding performance in protecting insulation from mechanical and chemical damage. Aside from durability, the stainless steel build also provides a sleek, aesthetic finish.

The production team at Bellis harnesses only high grade #304 or marine grade #316 stainless steel for banding. The protective stainless steel band can be fabricated in widths of 13mm, 19mm or 25mm to meet the requirements of any project.
For improved moisture resistance, Bellis can equip sheet metal with Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride (PVF), or moisture barriers. The former is a polymer material with low permeability for vapours, slow combustibility, and exceptional resistance to staining and weathering. Meanwhile, the latter is a layer of plastic film or other material that inhibits jacket corrosion from the inner side of metal jacketing. Moisture barriers interferes with the formation of galvanic cells between the dissimilar metal of the jacket and pipe, as well as prevents crevice corrosion. Moisture barriers are available in the following compositions:
1. Polykraft - Polykraft is a multilayer composite film comprised of at least one layer of minimum 40 LB kraft paper, and at least one layer of plastic film.
2. Polysurlyn - Polysurlyn is a multilayer film comprised of at least one layer of acid copolymer, surlyn, and at least one layer of other polymers, most commonly polyethylene.
