Expansion joint systems are crucial in buildings to absorb movement caused by temperature changes, seismic activity, or structural settling. Schools, being public buildings are often subjected to heavy foot traffic and structural stresses and require robust expansion joint systems to maintain safety and structural integrity.

Unison's reputation for quality design and manufacturing has increased the popularity of our expansion systems. Our MoL pathogenic seal was supplied and installed in St Hilda's School Southport.

The expansion gap required a specialised system for the retrofit application. St. Hilda's is a prestigious school therefore the aesthetic look of the expansion joint system was important. Our client chose our low-profile system to integrate into the floor finish seamlessly. We supplied our MoL expansion system with black anodised aluminium together with the matching black seal.

Unison gasket floor expansion joint cover is purposely designed with smooth ripples, allowing the seal to open, rather than stretch and break during movement. Its expansion joint seal is made from a thermoplastic dual compound with UV inhibitors.

The seal systems are also popular with architects & clients as they are designed for hospitals & medical centres, food preparation spaces, laboratories or wherever hygiene is imperative.
