OLD HANDS DELIVER ON A PROMISE

EJ, formerly known as Havestock, has pulled out all stops to live up to it's new brand promise of "unparalleled customer service".

EJ recently won the Hutchinson Builders project for the redevelopment of the South Bank Rail Terminal at South Brisbane.

Time schedules were critical on this project as it involved closing a busy train station down to CBD commuters. The reopening date was fixed and could not be moved forward.

"We could not delay the pouring of the new platforms; the covers just had to be ready to install on time." said John Gilbert, EJ National Sales Manager.

The covers used on the project were machined ductile iron gastight covers and frames.

Each cover was then customised with stainless steel edges to blend into the aesthetics of the new platforms.

"To service our customer, we ran the factory on overtime and brought in a volunteer crew on a Saturday of management and sales staff." said John.

"So after 20 years, we were all back on the tools; helping to turn out stainless steel edged covers and frames."

In just one week, EJ produced 90 stainless steel edged covers which also included a multipart unit. The products got to the project on time.

"It was hard work but that's what we do at EJ - we get the job done" said John.
