Slip Resistant Expansion Joint from Unison Joints

Unison Joints is the leading supplier of expansion joint systems in the building and construction industry of Australia. With 22 years of experience, the Queensland-based company has sparked numerous innovations to build up their comprehensive range of movement joint solutions for all kinds of commercial, public, residential and other developments.
Unison's products are code compliant. They have a world-class range of slip resistant expansion joint systems. The Unison Joints catalogue has products categorised according to type of application, such as Designer (Dz) for polished concrete and similar applications requiring minimum visual effect; Flexo C (FxC) for applied floor finishes such as vinyl or ceramic tiles; and Flexo D (FxD) for retro-fit applications.
These floor coverplate systems have a number of finishes that provide aesthetic and functionality in slip resistance. For example, bead-blasted (BB) alloy coverplates have a P5 or V Rating as per AS4586-2013 Wet Pendulum Test. Specifiers on the lookout for the highest strength and build quality can look no further than Brawny C (By C), the extra heavy duty coverplate expansion joint from Unison Joints. Due to its use in back-of-house type applications, this system is very often opted with the BB type coverplate.

Introducing Brawny C

By C is designed to accommodate heavy loads of rolling traffic, such as forklifts, scissor-lifts and pallet trolleys, and other bulky service equipment. The high capacity of the slip resistant expansion joint makes it ideal for use in loading docks, back of house areas, and trading floors for bulky goods. The one-of-a-kind design features concealed fixing and square edges to reduce wheel impact in any direction of movement.
The standard coverplate of By C is high-grade mill-finish alloy, but can also be supplied in natural and colour-anodised aluminium, stainless steel, or bead-blased finish. The ByC employs the use of Unison's 'impellor' type composite cbar couplings. These new HD cbars mean that the system has zero corrosion factor. The ByC can be integrated with Unison's PyI fire-rating system and AqP waterproofing system. It can be installed adjacent to tiles, concrete, vinyl and epoxy and other finishes.
The slip resistance expansion joint system also exhibits no bumps. When applied, it is perfectly flushed with surrounding floors. Thus, ByC guarantees safe trafficability for pedestrians, trolleys, maintenance equipment, passenger vehicles and other traffic.
With a standard length of 4.8m, By C is available with an optional "T" bracket for application to exposed agg, stone, paving or terrazzo.
