Polycarbonate Clear Roofing, Be prepared for the Storm Season

Clear polycarbonate sheets offer builders, architects, roofing contractors, and home owners exceptional strength, resistance to UV exposure, flexibility, and is half the weight of glass. Recently the Allplastics Architectural division completed the roof renewal of an exclusive Rose Bay residence in Sydney. The roofing was damaged in a recent hail storm. 4.5mmT Solid clear polycarbonate sheeting was selected and expertly installed by Craig Lambert. The sheeting was continuous over seven metres long eliminating joints. Polycarbonate offers 250 times the strength of normal glass, can be cut on site, and curved without cracking.

The reduced weight means cost savings due to less steel structures required. The installation at Rose Bay provided the occupants with a fully sealed, ultra-clear and safe environment.

Polycarbonate sheets are available in standard sheets sizes of 2440 x 1220mm, 2440 x 1830mm, and 3000 x 2000mm. For this project a continuous spool of 4.5mmT polycarbonate was utilized to eliminate joints. These spools are available for projects up to 50m long width and 2540mm wide. This is ideal for long lightboxes and warehouse roofs where standard sheets need joints. Spools are available in clear or opal 3mmT and 4.5mmT.
