Application Temperature for Polyurethane Foam by Bellis
The use of polyurethane foam is highly beneficial for construction projects. It is one of the best insulation options in terms of installation and cost-efficiency. However, it is important to note the right application temperature for polyurethane foam. Bellis offers the Versi-Foam system and explains the ideal temperature during application should be between 18° C to 30° C. Doing this will garner you the best results for your insulation. To make things easier for applicators, the system comes with a temperature strip. This can be found on the white tank marked as component "B". The strip has 3 colours indicating the temperature. Blue means the chemicals are too cold while red indicates they are too warm. The temperature sensing trip must be green as shown in the image below.
When storing the Versi-Foam system, it should be placed in an environment with a temperature between 21° C and 27° C. This is a must 24 hours prior to using the Versi-Foam system. When the chemicals are too cold, you will be dispensing a crunchy and glassy surface texture whereas if they are too warm, you will be dispensing a spongy surface texture. If you need help getting the right application temperature for polyurethane foam, contact Bellis or visit bellis.com.au.
