Laminated Glass Panels for Spiral Staircase by Bent & Curved Glass

Spiral staircases are usually utilised to save space, but not in all cases. At Barangaroo Tower, the spiral staircase becomes a focal point. This architectural feature is further enhanced with the help of Bent & Curved Glass, which provided the laminated glass panels for the spiral staircase.

Australian-owned and operated Bent & Curved Glass has over 5 decades of experience working with glass, specifically with curving or bending it. Glass is an excellent choice for a balustrade on staircases as it allows visibility and doesn't cut off natural light.

For the Barangaroo Tower, Bent & Curved Glass worked closely with the architects and fabricators of the project to achieve the spiral staircase with laminated glass panels. Each panel had a unique shape to complete the entirety of the balustrade; the 21.52mm-thick frameless glass panels were bent and curved seamlessly to the shape of the staircase.
