Bellis is one of the premier suppliers of aerogel insulation blankets in Australia. In partnership with Aspen Aerogel, the Queensland-based company provides innovative thermal management solutions as the leader in the insulation sector of the building and construction industry.
Aerogel insulation by Aspen Aerogels have been widely used in the field of building insulation for more than a decade. Bellis Australia supplies three top-of-the-line aerogel insulation blankets from the American company, namely: Pyrogel® XTE, Pyrogel® XTF and Cryogel® Z.
Pyrogel® XTE/XTF
Pyrogel® XTE is the most effective aerogel insulation blanket in the Aspen Aerogels lineup. Similar in composition, Pyrogel® XTF is specially formulated for protection against fire in high temperature applications.
Pyrogel® XTE/XTF exhibit a maximum use temperature of 1202°F (650°C). This outstanding thermal performance is delivered even at a fraction of their reduced thickness and profile. Pyrogel® XTE/XTF are soft and flexible, yet with superb spring back to recover thermal performance even after high compression of up to 100 psi (pounds per square inch). In addition, the hydrophobic material is breathable, allowing vapour to escape. Pipework and underlying assets will stay drier for longer, attributing to Pyrogel® XTE/XTF's excellent CUI (corrosion under insulation) defense, process stability and lifespan.
Bellis supplies Pyrogel® XTE in the colour maroon, and Pyrogel® XTF in the colour grey. Both aerogel insulation blankets come in the thickness of 0.40 in (10mm), with Pyrogel® XTE also available in the smaller thickness of 0.20 in (5mm). They are typically 2-5 times thinner than other insulation products in the industrial market. Thus, builders and contractors will find Pyrogel® XTE/XTF easy to handle and install with less time and labour. With their lightweight build, the versatile materials can be easily cut into complex shapes and designs for a variety of applications, such as in refineries, and petrochemical and gas processing plants.
Cryogel® Z
For cold work, Bellis offers Cryogel® Z - the cryogenic insulation material with the lowest k-value in the market at 50%-80% reduced thicknesses. Available in the colour white, Cryogel® Z comes in the nominal thicknesses of 0.20 in (5mm) and 0.40 in (10mm).
Cryogel® Z delivers exceptional thermal performance in hydrophobic blanket form, with an integral vapour barrier for twofold protection against moisture. Light in weight, Cryogel® Z is durable with spring back during compression events as high as 100 psi. This characteristic promotes the safety of underlying assets from footfalls, tool strikes, lifting and transportation. Cryogel® Z also eliminates the contraction joints found in other insulation materials to remaining flexible at cryogenic temperatures.
With a maximum use temperature of 257°F (125°C), Cryogel® Z is most recommended for applications below ambient temperature in the oil and gas processing industry, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ethylene, etc.
