The Thermomass Building Insulation System is a patented insulation system designed for precast, in-situ or tilt up concrete sandwich panels. Supplied in Australia by CGS Insulation, they are engineered to create a fully insulated, structurally composite concrete sandwich panel wall.

Fully integrated and highly energy-efficient, Thermomass insulation complies with Section J of the BCA (Building Code of Australia).

Thermomass is the only precast sandwich panel insulation system that complies with CV3 (fire spread) of the BCA when tested to AS 5113.

This insulated concrete sandwich wall system consists of extruded polystyrene insulation sandwiched between two concrete layers that is being held together by THERMOMASS connectors. These connectors are composite fibre connectors that are thermally and chemically compatible with concrete- effectively avoiding spalling, cracking and delamination.

Aside from effectively insulating a building from the outside, the Thermomass System uses the internal mass layer of concrete to act as a heat sink for the building. In effect, it is able to passively regulate temperature during the day and night cycle when the building heats and cools down- resulting in reduced energy consumption.
