For the past 12 years, EJ has been supplying specialized BRIO covers for the APLNG gas fields in Western Queensland. As a project that covers such a wide area, it is integral for the developers to integrate regular access points across the pipeline, to facilitate future access or maintenance.

When the project began, in collaboration with the APLNG project engineers, EJ advocated the use of tough BRIO covers, as their unique characteristics meant they were well-equipped to handle the unique requirements of the wide-reaching project. Featuring a patented hinge and integrated locked lifting handle, the BRIO access cover makes entry simple, while ensuring the cover cannot be opened or stolen by third parties.

Additionally, each BRIO hinged access cover is supplied pre-cast in robust concrete collars, significantly reducing installation and logistical difficulty. As a project that continues to advance deeper into remote Queensland, access and transport to new sites is an escalating challenge, bringing increased costs and times. By delivering the covers pre-cast, installation becomes as simple as digging a wide enough chamber and slotting the access point into place.
