SeiMax R: Multi-Directional Roof Expansion Joint System by Unison Joints
Unison Joints are proud to present SeiMax R (Si R)- the multi-directional roof expansion joint system. The Queensland-based company is the industry leader in design, manufacture and distribution of movement joints within the building and construction industry in Australia. SeiMax R comes as part of their premier range of seismic joints, designed to provide accommodation for movement caused by thermal, wind, shrinkage, creep and seismic activity.
Up close with SeiMax R
The SeiMax range mainly consists of seismic coverplate expansion joint systems for architectural floor finishes with low maintenance features (Si G), minimum visual impact (Si T), and weather/pathogenic seals (Si D). Unison Joints understand that seismic movement not only affects the floors of a structure, but roof construction as well. Thus, they specially designed Si R to be the multi-directional roof expansion joint system of the SeiMax lineup.
Si R facilitates all kinds of seismic movement from any direction. The SiR weatherproofs the gap whilst allowing for high degrees of movement. The cutting-edge design mechanism has smooth lines which integrate well with surrounding roof and wall cladding.
Not designed for trafficability, Si R uses cbar type couplings. These cbars are manufactured from an injection-moulded composite material for nil corrosion factor and longevity. The multi-directional roof expansion joint system consists of an aluminium coverplate shaped like a ridge cap, and a secondary drape-seal for resistance to water and other weathering agents. Drainage spigots are accessory items available upon request. Unison Joints also supply Si R in a roof-wall version. And the system can be integrated with vertical wall expansion joint systems. Transition details are available from Unison's engineers.
Available with high-performance fire rating, Si R is supplied in natural-anodised aluminium as the standard finish. The robust build quality of anodised aluminium accounts for excellent resistance to hard wear and corrosion, ensuring top performance and long lasting service. Specifiers can also customise the multi-directional roof expansion joint system with a powder-coat finish.
Si R measures 4.8m in standard length. Coverplates are available from 170mm to 700mm in width, with a thickness of 2 and 3mm.
