Kell & Rigby construction company acquire new NSW builder Brisland

Whilst many builders in the industry are doing it tough, Kell & Rigby, a fourth generation family-owned construction company is going from strength to strength, with the announcement of their acquisition of New South Wales Government-specialist building company Brisland.

James Kell, CEO Kell & Rigby said the company has been well positioned to acquire other quality building companies since entering into a strategic partnership with Mulpha Australia last year.

The acquisition of the family-owned and run Brisland significantly enhances Kell & Rigby's credentials in the government sector, as Brisland is a top-ten 'Best Practice' accredited contractor in NSW and has Federal Safety Commission accreditation, among a slew of other endorsements with government agencies.

Under the arrangement, the Brisland team will continue to focus on work in the Government and schools sectors under the Kell & Rigby banner. The financial terms of the deal remain confidential.

Richard Brisland said the sale to Kell & Rigby has fulfilled his succession plans perfectly.

Kell & Rigby's continual growth has recently been recognised with the 2009 NSW/ACT Family Business Australia/Deloitte Growth Award. The award was announced at the NSW & ACT Family Business Australia (FBA) Conference, in recognition of Kell & Rigby having achieved the fastest average turnover growth over the past three years.
