Manhole Covers and Drainage Grates from EJ

KING SHAKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (DURBAN - SOUTH AFRICA)

South Africa's newest airport, King Shaka International, is ready for takeoff with the help of Australian companies Everhard and EJ.

Everhard and EJ have joined forces in South Africa and sell the products under the new brand name of Evercast.

Durban's new King Shaka Airport, named after the 19th century Zulu King, was recently constructed to meet the demands of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

South Africa's civil engineering contractors learnt about the many new designs at a product launch by A-Sales; Evercast's South African agent.

"The Evercast boys flew over and impressed our clients with the new Australian designs and quality of their products." said Darryl Fourie, Managing Director of A-Sales Connections.

The King Shaka International Airport installed approximately AUD$60,000 worth of EJ Class G (900kN) manhole covers and drainage grates.

Airport rated covers and grates are engineered to withstand extra heavy loads and must test to 900kN or approximately 90 tonnes.

EJ Australia was able to provide full test reports and a successful track history of supplying major airports such as Sydney International Airport.

After working closely with Austrade's Kevan Dacey and Greg Hull for the past five years, EJ was introduced to the South African market as an experienced exporter of construction materials.
