Earlier in April this year, the central Queensland city of Rockhampton was ravaged by its worst flooding since the infamous 2010-2011 floods. Following the onslaught of Cyclone Debbie through southeast Queensland, the Fitzroy River overflowed to 8.8 metres - not so far below the record of 9.2 metres six years ago - leaving over 200 homes inundated, while affecting 3000 households and businesses.

As Rockhampton recovers from the disaster, EJ was enlisted to supply polymer concrete pits with brass edged covers, as part of the city's major streetscape rejuvenation project. The applications were carried out on the electrical and communication services networks. Also, with a new range of composite covers, EJ pits are an attractive solution for other lighting, electrical and communications projects.

The bolt-down composite lid finishes off with a sleek, skid-proof surface to promote the safety of the workforce and, upon application, high volumes of pedestrian traffic.
