Karndean Environmental Responsibility

Ensuring that our Designflooring fulfills recognised standards for sustainable design, Karndean makes flooring simpler by meeting the required environmental criteria.

Our approach is based on the use of recycled materials, working with bodies such as the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). A number of Karndean products contain more than 50 per cent recycled content and we strive to do even better.

At Karndean, we're committed to use environmentally friendly materials and processes in all our activities to ensure sustainability and best value for customers and stakeholders alike. All our packaging is made using recycled material and our factory waste is recycled at source in a closed-loop process.

Environmental awareness is also designed into our manufacturing, distribution and product aftercare. A generic BRE Green Guide 'A/A+' rating and 100 per cent biodegradable floor care products are just two indicators of our commitment to more environmentally-aware indoor spaces. Our product is also manufactured to the ISO 14001 environmental standard.
