Safety Activation Sensor for High Speed Doors from DMF International

The fast action roll door is a door used for busy openings, and depending on the model, can operate at up to 4m/s opening speed. Therefore, theses doors require efficient safety sensors to maximise protection of not only the personnel, but the door as well.

There have been many reported injuries of users of high speed roll doors, and impact damage as a result of forklift traffic and other vehicles. Damage and injury can occur due to lack of or improper safety sensors fitted, which is why DMF ensures that at least two types of safety sensors are fitted as standard on their doors.

As an addition, DMF can now supply the unique Efascan laser safety scanning sensor. These lasers pulse out 16,000 signals p/sec in a horizontal plane, so as to determine a change of status, or detect movement within the specified zone.

Two regions are available being a 'safety region' detecting the presence of any person or object, and an 'activation region', which can distinguish approaching traffic intending to pass through the opening. The sensor thus also determines cross moving traffic, eliminating unnecessary opening cycles of the door.

These zones can extend out to a maximum 9m from the opening, and each zone can be programmed to set a shape and size to suit the purpose.

The Efascan sensors provide the absolute best in high speed roll door safety. Contact DMF today by phoning 1800 281170, or enquire through our website www.dmf.com.au
