Maestro and Maximo Access Covers in New Zealand from EJ

Simon Bottomley, Asia Pacific General Manager, ready to welcome Wellington's Engineers to the EJ Trade Show.

Shaking up New Zealand's infrastructure
Maestro & Maximo Break New Ground

Rebuilding earth-quake ravaged Christchurch, New Zealand, involved an extensive overhaul of underground infrastructure. Networks were completely destroyed but this provided the authorities with the perfect opportunity to upgrade a network which was well aged and needing attention.

Coincidentally, an EJ Trade Show in Christchurch showcased exciting new product that would provide perfect solutions to access covers within the damaged networks. In particular, EJ launched two innovative access parts, Maestro and Maximo. They were so well received that now, Christchurch is "awash" with EJ covers.

So introducing Wellington, New Zealand's windy city, to Maestro and Maximo was not a major sell. These two extra-safe, easy to operate covers are manufactured in Picardy, France, and East Jordan and Ardmore in the United States.

Wellington's Engineers were not only impressed with the advanced technology, but also with the clean casting and faithful reproduction of the designs. This is readily achieved with precision aluminium patterns on modern automatic moulding lines, coupled with French and American know-how and craftsmanship.

Engineers were also introduced to an expanded inventory of new product including the Maximo 800 - the popular Maximo now with a larger 800mm opening; aluminium hatch covers, self-levelling frames and the new age Logic Cover.

As one engineer put it, "We're excited to see these new concepts. It's all about protecting the assets of this City."

EJ is now planning an Auckland Trade Show in October this year. We'll keep you posted on specific dates and venue.
