The winning tender for the installation of grates throughout this major development on a prominent headland on Sydney Harbour, has been awarded to McPherson Plumbing, who sourced our grates through Plumbers Co-op.

But there's an interesting twist to the story. The project was originally designed utilising our standard non-heel-proof grates but when the consultant was made aware of the new HEELPROOF™ grates, it was an easy decision to make the switch. Not only did the new grates meet the required brief for load, anti-slip and hydraulic capacity, they were also heel-proof.

The bonus is that the same profile HEELPROOF™ grates are now being used throughout the project, so a uniform look is achieved, even though different lengths and widths have been specified. The specific applications include driveways through the car park as well as pedestrian areas.

A total of 166 metres of HEELPROOF™ grates will go on show at the much anticipated opening of the site around September this year.
