Plants & Panels - Bringing the Green Roof Experience to Schools

KHD is proud to support Do It on The Roof, a Melbourne initiative that is bringing green roofs to kids at school. Here is the 'Sustainability Rover', the mobile installation which has been on high circulation at schools around Melbourne.

The Rover is with 12 green roof modules brimming with native flowering grasses, along with a solar panel, water tank, and recycled materials. The objective of the rover is to teach students about energy and biodiversity.

With five core activities, ranging from design through to planting, Plants & Panels teaches applied maths and science through engaging hands-on activities. Students can design their own school green roof, conduct a biodiversity assessment, test a solar panel, learn about thermodynamics, or plant out a green roof module.
