Spotlight: Grand Café at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

One of the high-profile, international projects of Blinds by Peter Meyer is the Grand Café at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, a five-star luxury hotel in Wanchai Hong Kong. Grand Café is located in the hotel lobby, providing a delectable buffet of international cuisines to guests from all over the world. The dining hub recently had a makeover to take visual appeal, functionality and overall service to new heights. For the development, Blinds by Peter Meyer was enlisted to provide their best-selling Roman blinds.

The brief behind the Grand Café renovation required Blinds by Peter Meyer to execute a full redesign. The window coverings must enhance the overall ambience throughout the large room. Blinds by Peter Meyer designed the blinds to suit the floor to ceiling windows, filtering the natural light and breaking up the large spans of glass without detracting the panoramic views of Hong Kong.

In total, Blinds by Peter Meyer custom-built 46 motorised Roman blinds for the Grand Café renovation. Apart from logistics, the biggest challenge encountered was the sheer scale of the blinds. Majority of the blinds measured drops of at least 7000mm, with a large amount reaching over 8500mm. The Blinds by Peter Meyer team collaborated with a local partner to facilitate the measure, and assemble the blinds for installation. Other products used in the project included transparent Nagara fabrics from Silk Road, and black and red-striped DUSK fabrics from Chinoise Eclectics.

Delivered with a gold standard of service, the Grand Café renovation was well-received by the client. Blinds by Peter Meyer's Simply Naturals Roman blinds are simply spectacular for elegant aesthetics and optimum functionality.
