Built in a bushfire-prone area with partly BAL-FZ and partly BAL-40 rating, the clients also wanted to achieve very high energy efficiency. Paarhammer Bushfire Safe Range covers it all.

The distinctive window design features horizontal bars on fixed window panes with inset tilt & turn window openings. The build also features a lift-slide stacker door with highlights, fixed windows, and tilt & turn windows.

BAL-FZ Rating and No Shutters

The clients wanted bushfire safe/resistant windows, without the typical design compromise posed by bushfire shutters. Paarhammer's Bushfire Windows Do Not require any shutters even at the highest exposure level (BAL-FZ).

All window frames are made from FSC-certified Manilkara Bidentata with the BAL-FZ windows and doors featuring Schott Pyranova® Glass which is 14mm thick and includes invisible intumescent layers that swell up in case of fire to create a heat blanket to stop radiant heat from being transferred to the inside. For BAL-40 Viridian Pyro40® glass is used. Both the glazing for BAL-FZ and for BAL-40 are made into double-glazed insulating units (IGUs) and achieve a very low U-value of 2.2 and 1.7 respectively.

All Paarhammer Bushfire Safe products have been tested, approved, and compliant with AS1530.8.1-2007, AS3959- 2009 and AS3959-2018 for BAL-40, and AS1530.8.2-2007, compliant with AS3959-2009 and AS3959-2018 for BAL-FZ.
